Post-rock bands have been a bit hit and miss for me over the last 6 months. There are artists that have spewed outpourings of non-descript, dull and predictable numbers, then there are those that have found their strength and produced spine-shattering sonic waves of joy.
Vasa are one of the latter bands and I am almost emotional that they finally have an album about to drop. Today’s Song of the Day, ‘Poseidon’s Kiss’ is the latest taste from their debut album Colours and is simply dazzling.
This transitions beautifully between restraint and meteoric amplification. Like all great post-rock uppercuts, it will fuel a fire in you that will have you falling more in love with every listen.
Colours is released 16th October.
