There’s a particular pleasure in a dance track that lets its textures do the talking, and ‘Nunc’ is full of them.
Each sound has grain to it, the kind you feel through the floor before you hear it properly, and the beats are built with enough weight to turn a room. Melodic house can slide into sheen for its own sake. This one keeps the polish in service of the groove.
Where it really wins me over is the dynamics. They’re judged with real patience, letting the tension gather until you find yourself leaning towards the speakers, then easing off just long enough for the return to land twice as hard. I’d happily lose a Saturday night to it, and I suspect the dancefloor would agree.
