Soleima has gained notable praise and support from the Danish press. Ahead of her appearance at Eurosonic this year, the Copenhagen singer-songwriter has emerged with her first release of 2018.
She says of the new single, “’Low Life’ is a song about embracing whatever you’ve got in life, and about empowering yourself,” says Soleima. “I had somebody very dear to me in my mind when writing this. They grew up under difficult circumstances and even though they’re still struggling, they’re fighting to get somewhere good. I admire that more than anything.”
Soleima’s personality is a delight throughout and her quirky and coy vocal provides a halcyon escape. Whilst there are knowing musical allusions here, it still feels complete refreshing. There is no doubt a promise of so much more in the future from the intriguing singer.
