The self-proclaimed chaos that drenches the track is channelled through discordant yet heady guitar lines and rolling staccato drum lines. Lines like “What if police would stop the violence, What if our people weren’t divided” help amplify the questions surrounding a year saturated with unrest and injustice.
Sherwyn’s vocal dexterity is on full show here and it’s magical to see how seamlessly he can move between styles. There’s an adventurousness that doesn’t feel forced and he continues to be one of the most fascinating musical acts of the last few years.
