Rufous Nightjar: ‘Red Robin’

Rufous Nightjar, the enchanting trio of Branwen Kavanagh, Anna-Mieke Bishop, and ZoĆ© Basha, have released their spellbinding debut single, ‘Red Robin’.

Inspired by folklore surrounding the Cailleach in Ireland and Scotland and the landscapes of West Clare, this three-part acappella harmony song showcases the group’s raw talent and the power of traditional music.

A preview of Rufous Nightjar’s forthcoming debut album, Songs for Three Voices, the trio’s immaculate harmonies, honed during their transformative journey across Eastern Europe in 2018, are on full display, showcasing the depth of their musical connection and the beauty that can arise from a shared passion for folk music.

‘Red Robin’ is a shining example of their ability to weave music, nature, lived experience and the human voice into a tapestry of pure aural delight, firmly establishing the outfit as a force to be reckoned with in contemporary folk music.
