Yes, I was one of the originals that went to Connect when it was based in Inverary and the pulse has certainly increased since the rumours started of its return.
Fast forward and the revival is to be based at Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Centre. AND, the first wave of artists has been announced! Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers and The National set to headline joined by Mogwai, Little Simz, Self Esteem, Jon Hopkins, Black Coffee, Bonobo, Bombay Bicycle Club, John Grant, LOW and Idlewild and many more from 26th – 28th August.
Massive Attack, will take to the ‘Grand Parade Stage’ on Friday 26th August. The Chemical Brothers, will make their Connect headline appearance on Saturday 27th August. Rounding off the weekend and closing Connect with their headline set on Sunday 28th August are The National.
A number of additional stellar names join the cast including: Moses Boyd, Optimo (Espacio), Future Utopia, Maeve, Hammer, The Twilight Sad, Erol Alkan, Caribou, Chloe Moriondo, Nightwave, Matt Maltese, Willie J Healey, Admiral Fallow, Sudan Archives, Kathleen Francis, Black Country, New Road, Geese, Rae Morris, Horse Meat Disco, Jamz Supernova and Rebecca Vasmant.
The grassroots Scottish contingent will also be representing in the form of Podcart favourite Cloth, 2021’s Sound of Young Scotland Award winner Lvra, Swim School, Hamish Hawk and Lizzie Reid.
Music fans will be able to secure their early bird ticket by signing up to access the Connect presale here by 9am on Thursday 24th February, before tickets go on sale on general release at 9am on Friday 25th February.
