Taken from her debut album Over Ling and Bell, Bristol-based singer-songwriter Amy May Ellis sews a sublime thread between solitude and beauty in her latest release ‘Rain From The East‘.
Released as part of Lost Map Records’ Postcard Club, Ellis will be joining James Yorkston and Nina Persson as part of a live February tour around the UK.
As far as tasters go, ‘Rain From The East‘ feels meditative in its stillness but there is a clear melancholy that comes from pure grief channelled lyrically and performatively.
It’s easy to find flashes of grace in this gorgeous piece of work and as far as sonic reflections go, ‘Rain From The East’ captures a sadness that goes far beneath the surface.
