There’s always been something notable about Scottish alt-rock outfit The Van T’s. Their ornate harmonies and guttural guitar underbelly have continuously provided a state of yin and yang that throws back to grunge greats such as Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins.
New single ‘Control’ is their stylistic poster child when it comes to this approach and a song that showcases sumptuous melodic top lines and ear-pounding riffs.
My teens were entrenched within grunge. I saturated myself in the aforementioned band heroes amongst several others within the same sphere. The Van T’s are a gorgeous progression and one that feels completely invigorating.
The quartet’s confidence continues to grow and the prominent respect that fans and peers have for them is not only inspiring but deserved. I look forward to what comes next.
