Me For Queen: ‘Slow Train’

Me For Queen is the brainchild of Fife’s Mary Erskine, she describes her music simply as “a sort of sketchpad for whatever’s happening in my head.

‘Slow Train‘ is the first single from her next EP, Who I am and What I am For, due out November this year.

“I wanted to write a song that feels at one with itself. Not sunshine happy but maybe content for a moment. It only has four chords. That’s an all time best for me! I just didn’t let myself over-think it”, explains Erskine.

With an orchestral blossom that steadily envelops the song, Erskine takes her already-arresting sound and expands it to something all consuming. With an uninhibited sureness and Erskine’s soulful delivery, this has more than its fair share of charm.
