Having recently announced their next album Departures, Belgian dream pop outfit Portland give a magnetic taster in ‘Stardust‘.
As far as song titles go, the arrangement does everything to cinematically represent it and there is real magic in its production.
With a sadness at its core through lead vocalist Sarah Pepels’ past heartbreak, this helps attribute to the orchestral quality of the song and its movements. Melodically, there are many clever moments as it shifts and there’s almost too much to take in upon first listen. That’s always a sign of something special.
