Taken from Small Pond’s EMERGE compilation album showcasing new songs by young Brighton creatives, Calista Harper‘s contribution ‘Small Mercies‘ is anything but the size given in its name.
A wonderfully constructed and beautifully performed indie gem, its mammoth chorus alone has the heart singing. With some notable lyrical constructs, it’s Harper’s vocal that brings a texture of pure calm.
There are vivid narratives and melodic flourishes within an already sublime listen and this deserves full attention.
