Wesley Joseph: ‘Imaginary Friends’

Wesley Joseph: ‘Imaginary Friends’

Self-produced bedroom artist Wesley Joseph emerges with one of the strongest debuts in recent years thanks to ‘Imaginary Friends‘.

I have to start by commenting on the movements with the song. The sum of its parts act as a commentary not only lyrically but also dynamically. The skill here is stunning, your ear is craving the next change whilst still trying to digest the previous.

There are moments of sheer awe within his lines, his life and spits are a poem of sadness, reflection and elation. This is a constant melancholy underlying throughout and his use of alternating percussion and tempo dictate its energy effortlessly.

I will continue to consume everything he delivers and I pray it’s going to be a wealth of material.
