Orange County trio Cloud District have recently released new EP Summer Slam. Our first taste is the abrupt and bittersweet ‘Rosie’.
With a feeling of wreckage and detritus, there are also glimmers of melodic beauty. This is rough around the edges, but that’s what makes it all the more appealing. There’s a strong sense of catharsis about ‘Rosie’ and it’s quite possibly one of my favourite atmospheric rock cannons of the year so far.
