It’s easy for bloggers and journalists to comment on an artist’s age, especially when they produce music that puts them in the same league as the likes of early Portishead and Massive Attack.
I don’t think we should be surprised anymore though. For decades, music has produced some of the most exciting and diverse young impresarios and Mhairi can be added to that list.
Mhairi’s debut ‘Crystalline’ is dangerously fragile. With an ominous transparency of her own feelings, this smoulders with delicate menace and silent poise.
