The Dirty Blonde have always been one of those bands in the background. I have heard their name mentioned from time to time and friends have urged me to check them out, but I don’t know what stopped me from fully investing in them.
Their latest track ‘Bottom Feeder’ (don’t let the name put you off, whatever your interpretation) has come just at the right time. It’s emotional, it’s magnetic and its gargantuan crescendo had me smiling like a fucking Cheshire cat.
In one cerebral jamming session, The Dirty Blonde have penned a track that throws me back to bands like The Wrens. Guitar-saturated bombast that is complete and utter joy.
