Morocco native Stranger Souma brings her minimal electro talents to the forefront with heady new release ‘Waves of Illusion‘.
With her focus also as founder of Moroccan-based label Volubilian Records, it’s exciting to see more women coming to the fore from North Africa in this musical field.
Being half-Moroccan brings something really personal to highlighting Stranger Souma as an artist for me and with electronica as a real passion, this feels like a year highlight in terms of discovery.
‘Waves of Illusion’ will reveal further layers of sound with subsequent listens and as this progresses, it blossoms into something sophisticated and confident.
I can’t wait to further delve into this new world of talent.
