I have been listening to Edinburgh’s Wozniak on and off for the last few weeks, it is only now that I am really appreciating what an excellent band they are.
‘Paper Hat’ is my Song of the Day. Post rock/instrumental music is something that probably saturates my music collection more than anything else. The amount of submissions I receive that are a total rip off of bands such as Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky and And So I Watch You From Afar is staggering so it takes something a bit different to prevent me writing things off completely.
‘Paper Hat’ certainly has the power to turn a wider audience their way, the tenderness that they manage to channel through this track for me despite its structural predictability shows there are still boundless possibilities in their instrumental set up.
