Song of the Day: Eliza Shaddad – You For Me

Eliza Shaddad comes from the same record label/management group as Turtle so before I even hit play I knew it was going to be special.

Eliza is of Sudanese and Scottish descent and now resides in London. Her latest track ‘You For Me’ is our Song of the Day. This is a fascinating track, part of me feels that I should be listening to this with a broken heart as musically it is tinged with a huge amount of sadness, but the lyrics contradict these sentiments entirely.

‘You For Me’ is taken from Eliza’s forthcoming ‘Waters’ EP out 16th June. Sometimes you can sit in your circle of ghosts and listen to lullabies like this that immediately make you reflect on relationships good or bad and remember the poignant moments. I suppose that is when you know a song is significant.

If this track is a representation of what is to come from the ‘Waters’ EP then book this lady a headline tour immediately so I can buy tickets.
