Hailing from Portland, Maria DeHart provides us with an exquisite introduction to their trio with latest earworm ‘Pop Song‘.
Vocally, the song is a lush bed of velvet tones and soothing harmonies. There’s also an honesty and vulnerability that makes this a beatific listen.
Its build is a bonus, there’s a midway point where the band provide an escalating sonic hook that will see those tiny hairs on your arms leap with joy.
This is relatable indie-pop with surprising emotion.
‘Pop Song’ is taken from Maria DeHart’s forthcoming album Opening released 18 May.
