Life Is Like A Box Of Records: Sauropod

Life is Like A Box Of Records is here again! Our guests pick tracks that have soundtracked moments of their lives so far.

Today is the turn of Norweigan rock stalwarts Sauropod. Their debut album Roaring At The Storm was released at the end of January. The band made our Favourite Tracks of 2015 with the gargantuan ‘Winter Song’.

You can listen to their music via soundcloud.com/sauropod

The Coup – “5 Million Ways to Kill a CEO”

Great song, great video. Also, check out their latest album “Sorry To Bother You” for some crazy punk/hip-hop/disco blended stuff!

Eagles of Death Metal – “I Only Want You”

The magic of repetitionŠ Love EODM when they’re as quirky as this!

Tom Waits – “Jockey Full of Bourbon”

Samba rhythm mixed with gypsy tones? Hell yeah.

Morphine – “I’m Yours, You’re Mine”

Morphine is excellent. If there’s a chance you haven’t tried it yet, this is probably not from the easiest album they made. Check out “Like Swimming” or “Cure for Pain”. But if you like deep, deep baritone saxophone, you only ever need this!

Meat Puppets – “Lake of Fire”

Nirvana-fans probably recognize this one from their acoustic MTV-album. This is the original, electric version. Sick!

The Shocking Blue – “Love Buzz”

Another one first introduced to us through Nirvana. Very cool song!

Pixies – “Wild Honey Pie”

Yes. Pixies DID cover The Beatles. Better than anyone could.

Queens of the Stone Age – “Long Slow Goodbye”

A very nice anti-ballad; it’s mellow and yet they’re beating the shit out of their instruments as always.
