In February, Podcart turns 10 years old. To celebrate we have decided to run free monthly podcasting workshops for young women.
Why free and why women? Well, Halina was a young woman when she started. She had no formal training and taught herself. It’s a male-dominated industry whether you like it or not and we just felt we wanted to give back and encourage more young women into the field. We also felt it would be great to make them free so that those facing financial difficulty or limited access to funds would be able to have this hands-on opportunity.
We are delighted that the fantastic Glasgow Zine Library has agreed to host our workshops! They are a wonderful space and have a wealth of weird, wonderful and inspiring zines. We will also be producing a zine on “How To Podcast…” for our workshop attendees. It will also be stocked in the Glasgow Zine Library shop for purchase and all funds will go back into continue running the workshops.
The workshop will be held on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 6pm – 8pm and there will be 10 spaces available. It is first come first served and also if people would like to come to multiple workshops they are more than welcome.
We will be looking at equipment, recording, agendas, planning, production, licences, marketing, and much more.
The first workshop takes place: 21 FEBRUARY 2019 6PM – 8PM
If you would a place, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, age, email address and contact number. We will notify if people have been successful or placed on a waiting list. If there is a waiting list, we will issue places if people drop out.
