There is something almost poignant about Harry Sullivan’s vocal that makes Bengal Lancers‘ latest single scream out.
The subject of mental health runs through its veins and the intensity in their delivery as a band almost augments the feelings behind ‘Memory Loss’.
The London quartet blends a fascinating mix of electronic form amongst the strong indie rock sensibilities here. At its most euphoric, this is reminiscent of the likes of Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse. There is a rapture within the song that takes away from the darker aspects in its meaning and one that underscores that band’s endorsement of wearing your heart on your sleeve. Their perpetual energy makes me desperate to experience them live, but for now, this is my solace.
